My friend Danilo from Palermo suggested that I feature un sinonimo del giorno.

I thought I would give it a try to see how it works.

Today’s example is the noun il farraginoso, which means jumbled or choatic.

It shares a similar meaning with the adjectives confuso and caotico.

Hai un modo farraginoso di esporre le tue idee e infatti nessuno riesce mai a comprendere cosa pensi.

You have a jumbled way of expressing your ideas, and no one is ever able to understand what you are thinking.

This is probably harder than you expect, because Italian is relatively poor in synonyms compared to English. In English, we normally have at least two words for every concept, one from Latin and one from some other root. True synonyms in Italian I find to be relatively uncommon.
