Prepositions and time (I)

In Italian, to convey how much time it took, takes, or will take, the preposition in is used:
Grazie a Dio la metro funzionava senza problemi! Sono arrivato in dieci minuti per quel colloquio importante.
Thank God the metro was working without any problems! I got to that important interview in 10 minutes.
In other words, it took me 10 minutes to get there.
