As the spring/summer tennis season heats up in preparation for Wimbledon, let’s learn some expressions related to tennis!
Today's Parola del Giorno is the expression non essere testa di serie, which means to be unseeded (literally: to not be seeded). Seeding is common in many sports, such as tennis!
For most tennis tournaments, you will have players who are seeded or unseeded. Unseeded players often must go through qualifying matches to get a place in the tournament.
Note that this expression can also be used as an adjective non testa di serie, which means unseeded.
