Today’s Parola del giorno is the noun il petricore, which means petrichor in English.
This isn’t an English word that we often use in conversation; I’m not sure how often one will hear/encounter in Italian either.
It refers to the smell or scent in the air during a rainstorm or thunderstorm, especially after prolonged periods of warm, dry weather.
